When someone you love has died, it is a time of sadness and pain. We are here to help you through your bereavement. Please be assured of our thoughts and prayers.
Arranging a funeral
Please get in touch with us if you’d like to hold a funeral service at St Michael’s, or if you’d like a member of our clergy to be involved in a funeral service. The Church of England has a helpful website on planning funerals.
We work with all the local funeral directors and would especially recommend Greens, who are based in Eynsham, Tonks Brothers, and Edward Carter, both of whom are based in Abingdon.
Churchyard burials & memorials
If your loved one lived in the parish then we can arrange for them to be buried in the churchyard.
We also have plots available for the interment of ashes after cremation.
We are able to live-stream the service for friends or relatives who can’t make it on the day.
Later on it is possible to mark the grave with a grave stone or memorial tablet.
Please see this leaflet which will help to answer some of the questions you might have about commemorating the person who has died.
Recent live-streams
We are able to live-stream funeral services from St Michael’s. You can find our upcoming and recently live-streamed funerals below. There is usually an additional charge for live-streaming to help cover our costs.
