St Michael’s Church at Cumnor is historically one of the most important in the whole
Oxford area. This new study of its development and account of its architecture and fittings
rests on the latest research and is richly illustrated. It also sketches the history of the large
and diverse parish for which the church has served as a focus over more than a thousand
years. It provides an accessible survey for the general reader and valuable comparative
material for other local historians.
