These will remain available to watch online afterwards.

Giving

“Remember this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

As you may be aware, our Parish finances are at a low ebb, and we expect that the energy price rises will hit the church hard. While we know things will be difficult for many this winter, we really do need your support. If everyone could give just a little extra every week it would make all the difference.

All your donations to the parish support the church’s ministry, and our mission to reach the wider community with the good news of Jesus.

Apart from the weekly collection, you can also give online. Alternatively, giving regularly by Direct Debit via the Parish Giving Scheme is a brilliant option.

For more information or to give online please visit: https://cumnor.org/giving/

New Postcards For Inviting Friends To Church

We’ve made some new postcards available at the back of St Michael’s and St Andrew’s for us all to use when inviting friends along to church. Please take a few to give away!

James Dyer

Andrew, Jenny & Clare Dyer would like to thank you all most sincerely for your prayers and good wishes which have been a great comfort to us in recent weeks. We are pleased to report that James’ recent surgery was successful and in due course he will commence post operative treatment. We would therefore greatly appreciate your continued prayers of support.

Churchyard Clear Up – Thank you!

A big thank-you to everyone who came and worked so hard to tidy up the churchyard! What an amazing difference it’s made and we’re all ready to welcome the village for Remembrance Sunday and the Christmas celebrations.

The Big Coffee Pot Launch

This was a wonderful event with about 40 people in all coming at various times. There was a great atmosphere with everyone chatting happily with those they knew and with those they didn’t but now do! The coffee and a tasty variety of cakes helped everything along and were enjoyed by all. If you weren’t able to come today you certainly missed a treat so do try to come on subsequent occasions. The dates are listed on the copy of the flyer alongside. As from January, we’re going to open weekly and are hoping to turn the small hall (STAC that was) into a quiet work space, during the time we’re open, where people can come and, of course, also take advantage of the coffee and cake on offer. Please spread the word. Angela Sheppard

This Week’s Bible Readings

Joshua 24:1-26

Matthew 4:8-10

This Week’s Collect

Almighty and everlasting God,

increase in us your gift of faith

that, forsaking what lies behind

and reaching out to that which is before,

we may run the way of your commandments
and win the crown of everlasting joy;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,

who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen
