Jonathan Widdess


Jonathan grew up in High Wycombe, and trained for ministry at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford. He has been Vicar of Cumnor since 2017 and loves seeing people’s lives changed as they encounter Jesus for themselves.

Previously he was Priest in charge of Bargoed and Deri with Brithdir  in the Rhymney Valley, South Wales and before that he was Assistant Curate at St Mark’s Church, Gabalfa, Cardiff.

Before ordination, Jonathan worked for 11 years in the IT industry initially in IT support, and later developing software and leading teams of software developers.  Jonathan is married to Amanda, and they have two children: Elizabeth and Benji, and  a Romanian rescue dog called Phoenix who loves people, food and barking.
