Community Events
St Andrew's reaches out to its local community in a number of ways.
The Coffee Pot
The Coffee Pot meets weekly on Thursday mornings (10.30-12) at St Andrew’s providing refreshments at a low price. We are joined by residents of our local care homes at some of these sessions.
Job Club
In 2005 St Andrew's Church began a Job Club under the auspices of Christians against Poverty (CAP). We were joined by a well-qualified team (from St Andrew’s and other churches) and began offering one-to-one help for those wanting to get back into employment.
To date we have run 3 courses. They are the only ones in Oxford, and so the reach is wider than our immediate area.
Monthly Film Nights
We have regular film nights at St Andrew’s Church, usually on first Wednesdays in the month at 7.30pm, where we show feature films with subtitles. They are free and open to all, but donations are welcome. Refreshments are provided from 7pm for a small charge.
Games
Our games court (also known as the MUGA or multi-use games area) is a great asset. It provides opportunities for connection with the young people of the Parish and is available for private hire, together with the floodlights. At other times it is open for community use.
We also have a group that meets for table tennis in our Small Hall every two weeks through the year 2pm – 4pm. Anyone is welcome.
