Community Events
Cumnor Parish reaches out to the local community in a number of ways.
The Memories Café
The Memories Café, started by St Michael’s 13 years ago, meets fortnightly for chat, tea and cakes, sharing and outings. Volunteers help with lifts.
The Coffee Pot
The Coffee Pot meets on Thursday mornings at St Andrew’s providing refreshments at a low price. Local care homes bring some of their residents to these sessions.
Monthly Film Nights
There are regular film nights at St Andrew’s Church showing well known feature films with subtitles. They are free and open to all, but donations are welcome. Refreshments are provided for a small charge.
Job Club
A Job Club began at St Andrew’s in 2025 under the auspices of Christians against Poverty, with a well-qualified team (from St Andrew’s and other churches) offering one-to-one help for those wanting to get back into employment.
To date we have run 3 courses. They are the only ones in Oxford, and so the reach is wider than our immediate area.
Floodlit Games Court
The floodlit games court (also known as the MUGA or multi-use games area) adjacent to and belonging to St Andrew’s is a great asset. It provides opportunities for connection with the young people of the Parish and is available for community use.
