Harvest Gifts – Thankyou!

Thank you so much to everyone who gave so generously to our Harvest collection for the Community Emergency Foodbank. We were able to take two car-loads of produce to them on Tuesday morning. ‘Stocks were low over the summer,’ said a volunteer, ‘but thanks to harvest gifts they are now being replenished. A big thank you to everyone.’
Online Worship
The 10:30am services in St Michael’s are usually live-streamed via our website at:
https://cumnor.org/sunday-service-online/
These will remain available to watch online afterwards.
Giving
“Remember this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
As you may be aware, our Parish finances are already at a very low ebb, and we expect that the energy price rises will hit the church hard. While we know things will be difficult for many this winter, we really do need your support. If everyone could give just a little extra every week it would make all the difference.
All your donations to the parish support the church’s ministry, and our mission to reach the wider community with the good news of Jesus.
Apart from the weekly collection, you can also give online. Alternatively, giving regularly by Direct Debit via the Parish Giving Scheme is a brilliant option.

The Big Coffee Pot Launch

This will take place next Thursday, 13 October, 10.30am at St Andrew’s. Please come and support this event even if you won’t normally be there. It would be great to open with a flourish. Dates until Christmas are: 13, 27 October, 10, 24 November, 8 December, 10.30-12.00. I want to start cautiously and see what the demand is. However, my vision is to open weekly. In order to do this, I need another team so that the commitment for each team is fortnightly. Please let me know if you are interested in helping. This winter, I imagine, because of rising energy bills, there may be those who are looking for a warm and welcoming place to spend time and, therefore, I would like to be able to extend the hours perhaps until early afternoon although I’m not planning to provide anything other than hot drinks and cake. It’s all a work in progress! I look forward to seeing some of you on the 13th. Angela Sheppard

This Week’s Bible Readings
This Week’s Collect
Almighty God,
you have made us for yourself,
and our hearts are restless till they find their rest in you:
pour your love into our hearts and draw us to yourself,
and so bring us at last to your heavenly city
where we shall see you face to face;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen
