FOR THIS WEEKS ONLINE SERVICE CLICK HERE

This Sunday’s online Communion service is led by Jonathan with Helen Azer preaching from our series on Moses about the first Passover. Eve Lockett is leading our prayers and St Michael’s choir sing “O for a closer walk with God”. There is another special Big Story Bible Story and an all-age worship song for those who are young or young at heart.

Join us by visiting this page from 10am on Sunday morning or coming along to our live service in St Michael’s this Sunday for 10:30am. This week’s service in church is Holy Communion too.

Taking Communion Online

The Book of Common Prayer teaches us that if we offer ourselves in penitence and faith, giving thanks for the redemption won by Christ crucified, we may truly ‘eat and drink the Body and Blood of our Saviour Christ’, although we cannot receive the sacrament physically in ourselves.

Making a Spiritual Communion fulfils our duty set out in the church canons of receiving Holy Communion ‘regularly, and especially at the festivals of Christmas, Easter and Whitsun or Pentecost’ (Canon B15).

The Church to which we belong is not defined by the walls of a building but by the Body of Christ in which we are united with one another. In taking communion spiritually, we join with Christians everywhere to be nourished by the one who tells us, ‘I am the Bread of Life’.
