When Jesus died on the cross – so did your sin.

When He rose from the dead – so did your Hope

Veni Lumen

Veni Creator Spiritus. Veni lumen cordium, veni lumen cordium.

Come Holy Spirit.

Come creator spirit, come.

Come and lead us with your light

Wait for the Lord. Whose day is near.

Wait for the Lord, keep watch, take heart.

Prayer

Jesus our joy, you want us to have hearts that are simple – a kind of springtime of the heart. And then the complications of existence do not paralyse us so much.

You tell us: don’t worry; even if you have very little faith, I, Christ, am with you always.

See, I am near, says the Lord.

See, I make all things new.

Kristus, din Ande i oss är en källa med porlande vaten

Jesus, your spirit in us, is a wellspring of life everlasting.

Psalm 103 – Of David.

1 Praise the Lord, my soul;

    all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

2 Praise the Lord, my soul,

    and forget not all his benefits—

3 who forgives all your sins

    and heals all your diseases,

4 who redeems your life from the pit

    and crowns you with love and compassion,

5 who satisfies your desires with good things

    so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

6 The Lord works righteousness

    and justice for all the oppressed.

7 He made known his ways to Moses,

    his deeds to the people of Israel:

8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious,

    slow to anger, abounding in love.

9 He will not always accuse,

    nor will he harbour his anger forever;

10 He does not treat us as our sins deserve

    or repay us according to our iniquities.

11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,

    so great is his love for those who fear him;

12 as far as the east is from the west,

    so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

13 As a father has compassion on his children,

    so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;

14 for he knows how we are formed,

    he remembers that we are dust.

15The life of mortals is like grass,

    they flourish like a flower of the field;

16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,

    and its place remembers it no more.

17 But from everlasting to everlasting

    the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,

    and his righteousness with their children’s children—

18 with those who keep his covenant

    and remember to obey his precepts.

19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven,

    and his kingdom rules over all.

20 Praise the Lord, you his angels,

    you mighty ones who do his bidding,

    who obey his word.

21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,

    you his servants who do his will.

22 Praise the Lord, all his works

    everywhere in his dominion.

Praise the Lord, my soul

Nothing can ever come between us and the love of God.

The love of God revealed to us in Christ Jesus

Mark 10 v 13 – 16

13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16 And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Seigneur, tu gardes mon âme.

Ô Dieu, tu connais mon cœur.

Conduis moi, sur le chemin d’éternité. Conduis moi, sur le chemin d’éternité,

Lord, you watch over my soul. You know my heart. Lead me on the road to eternity.

Time to Reflect

When in prayer, human language cannot express well what it is we have deep within ourselves. We do not need to worry. In a prayer made of silence only –

We rest in God,

With the body,

With the soul,

With the spirit.

A SILENCE CAN BE KEPT

Nothing can trouble, nothing can frighten.

Those who seek God, shall never go wanting.

Nothing can trouble, nothing can frighten,

God alone fills us.

Nada te turbe, nada te espante

quien a Dios tiene nada le falta

Nada te turbe, nada te espante

sólo Dios basta

St Theresa of Avila
